Job Description

A leading design and fabrication company is seeking an Overhead Crane Operator to support production by safely moving materials and structural components throughout the facility. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused operator with crane experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment and the ability to handle materials efficiently to support production flow. Working under general supervision, this role plays an important part in ensuring materials are transported, staged, and positioned safely and accurately.

Salary: $19–21/hr – DOE
Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
Hours: 1st shift 6:00 am–2:00 pm

Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead crane equipment to move, stage, and position materials and structural components safely.
  • Support production and shop operations by ensuring materials are available where needed.
  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials and finished components throughout the facility.
  • Inspect materials visually for obvious damage or handling concerns prior to movement.
  • Follow load handling procedures to ensure safe movement and placement of materials.
  • Communicate with team members to coordinate safe and efficient material movement.
  • Assist with general material handling and production support tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures at all times.

Requirements
  • Previous crane operating experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environment required
  • Experience handling and moving large materials safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of safe lifting and material handling practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Good attention to detail and safety awareness
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work effectively with operators, helpers, and production teams
  • Forklift or additional material handling experience is a plus
