Job Description

A leading manufacturing company is seeking a Controller to manage accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive and strategic accounting professional with demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong business judgment. Working collaboratively, this individual will support financial integrity by guiding daily accounting and finance operations and strengthening control frameworks.

Location: Channelview, TX – FULLY ON SITE
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage core financial functions, including incoming and outgoing payments, compensation processing, and purchasing activities.
  • Evaluate and enhance financial systems, workflows, and control measures to support efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information for both internal use and external requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze essential financial materials such as statements, cash flow summaries, budgets, and performance variances.
  • Oversee monthly close activities, including reconciliations and financial statement finalization.
  • Liaise with external service providers during annual reviews and assist with required tax-related filings.
  • Assist with the annual budgeting process, including assessment of departmental submissions and development of supporting documentation.
  • Provide leadership with ongoing insights into financial results, trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll-related and tax reporting obligations.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and implement strategies to manage credit exposure.
  • Supervise disbursement activities to ensure consistency with internal guidelines and expense controls.
  • Contribute financial perspective to strategic planning discussions, including scenario and impact analysis.
  • Support execution of short-term initiatives and longer-range operational objectives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree within Accounting, Finance, or related
  • Active CPA license preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 4-6 years of accounting experience within manufacturing
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and executives
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work through changing priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
