Our client, an established organization in the manufacturing sector, is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join their team. The role involves performing precise electrical repair work on directional modules used in downhole drilling equipment, with a focus on high-temperature soldering and quality assurance in a high-reliability environment. The technician will primarily work at the Houston Repair Center and handle tasks critical to maintaining product quality and meeting industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform visual inspection of units returned for repair to identify defects and assess repair needs
• Remove RTV without causing damage to chassis, wire harness, components, or other parts
• Remove damaged parts and replace them with new components in correct positions and proper alignments
• Execute high-temperature soldering with HMP and PB86 fluxed wire to repair electrical components
• Inspect own work and that of other technicians to ensure quality standards are met
• Conduct visual outgoing inspection of repaired units to verify repairs are properly completed
• Place adhesive or RTV on repair units as needed
• Enter defect information and repair data accurately into data entry systems
• Perform general electrical repair work, including troubleshooting and component replacement
• Complete administrative tasks related to repair processes

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; IPC certification preferred
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical repair, with strong expertise in high-temp soldering using HMP and PB86 fluxes
• Experience with downhole tools or similar high-reliability, zero-defect products in the oil & gas industry
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues effectively
• Background in oilfield service companies highly preferred
• Knowledge of wire stripping, tinning, and proper soldering techniques in electrical assembly
